Best Web Application

Web Applications Contest and Workshop for Students

The scientific committee will award the best web application realized by students and presented at workshop, respectively realized during the contest with the Luminita State prize. This prize is awarded in the memory of our distinguished teacher Luminita State, university professor doctor at University from Pitesti, Faculty of Mathematics-Computer Science, with great scientific realizations.

ARGUMENT

Web Applications Contest and Workshop for Students

In the context where the online communication technologies have a quick developing,the communication gear have new directions of developing,the academic environment must take into account these aspects and offer student new opportunities for affirmation,communication and conexion with these domains of activity.
The contests from faculty where students participate lead to develop the ability for analyzing a problem,for the realization of new plans of solving and their implementation.This project propose to the students in front of some pactical situations of slolving problems from the web applications field and to assist at presentations realized by the specialists who are displaying their activity using online technologies.
The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of University from Pitesti offered to the industrial platfom from the Arges county and limitrophe countys,every year graduate students with a good training in the informatic systems,many of them have become specialists in domains with online activity.In this context we want to contribute at widening the knowledge of our students in this domain and to identify the students with special abilities regarding solving problems from the web applications domain .The pupils can see what activities are deploying in a university and can communicate with students and professors on themes that are interested in.
We want the workshop for web applications to be an opportunity so that the students can present web applications,until now realized with applicability in various domains of activity.

Objectives and participants

Web Applications Contest and Workshop for Students

The contest and the workshop is adressed to students,professors,IT&C specialists in the web application domain from Romania or abroad.
At the contest students with license or master can participate,and at the workshop can participate students,professors,IT&C specialists with scientific articles or to present new applications and technologies.Within the workshop it can be presented the results obtained with various applications,developed in the academic environment or in the economic environment.

Who can participate at the contest?

At the contest can participate students from the license,master and the pupils from the last year in high school.

The contest's deployment

The contestants will receive a problem which will be solved usind the EasyPHP package.Other means of creating and developing of the web applications are not allowed.
The problem's enunciation will contain clear specifications about the implementation.
After the work time's expiry(3-4 hours) the students will present the web applicaions to the judging comitee.
After the finalisation of judging the best web applications will be awarded.

Judging criterias

We enumerate the criterias that the comitee has in view in the evaluation procces of web applications:
- design
- the module of structure of the source code
- originality
- correctness
- security
- utility
-the simplicity of using the application
- the respecting of the requirements

After the finish of judging the best web applications are awarded.

The judging comitee

The judging and subject's elaboration comitee will consist of universitary professors and specialist in the web application domain.
